The Roommate by Kiersten Modglin

5.0

Due to his wife’s request for a trial separation, Wesley has been living in a motel for nearly a month. When Wes learns that this might be a long term ordeal, he is forced to look into something a bit more permanent. As luck would have it, Wes runs into an old high school classmate, Elias, who offers up his spare bedroom. Once Wesley moves in with Elias, weird things start happening. His workplace security system is breached, strange messages are being sent from his phone, and an unexpected incident at a work event has Wesley struggling to keep his job. Though Wesley is grateful for all that Elias has offered during this rough patch, he can’t help but wonder if Elias truly is the friend he claims to be.

As a Nashville resident, I love that this takes place in Nashville. The author does an excellent job at making me really feel something from the characters (Elias gave me serious creeps). There were so many layers to this book from wanting to figure out who was messing with Wesley to hoping for an amicable reconciliation with his family. I couldn’t put this one down, but then again I can never put any of Queen Modglin’s books down. This is a must read!
