Something Just Like This by Jennifer Probst

5.0

Something Just like This is a novella in the Stay series by the talented Jennifer Probst. I was excited when I heard Chloe's dad was getting a story! I was intrigued by him in the series and Jennifer gave me what I didn't even know I needed! Jonathan is the mayor of New York. He's widowed and has his eye on the governor seat. He's also wildly attracted to Alyssa, his assistant. That's a very bad move in politics. But when he realizes she might have feelings for him as well, he goes all in. He wants a relationship with her. He's ready and she's the first woman in years to spark his interest. It's been years in the making and now's the time. He just has to convince her to jump with him. Will the spotlight be too much for Alyssa? Can they find happiness in the midst of the political arena? This story is fantastic! It's short, sweet and hot. But it feels like a full length novel! And we get to see Chloe, Mia, Ethan, Harper, Aiden, Ophelia, Kyle and all the animals! It felt like coming home for family dinner and it really got me excited for Chloe's story!

"The hot librarian image is a cliché for a reason. And when you start rattling off statistics like a mast, I get a bit weak-kneed."

"You're insane."
"God, I love when you do that."
"What?"
"Smile. Laugh. It's like the sun coming out on a cloudy day."
