This might be tied with Nettle and Bone for my favourite T Kingfisher book. Loved the cast of characters and found family aspect between Cordelia and Hester. Loved that Hester always internally referred to Evangeline as Doom with a capital D. The gaslighting, 'I'm only doing this because I love you' kind of abusive relationship between Cordelia and her mother was well written and I appreciated that the book explored that kind of complex, toxic relationship rather than just giving us a run of the mill, random bad guy to be defeated.
