The Undocumented Americans by Karla Cornejo Villavicencio

5.0

Just finished this and typing this review through watery eyes. This book is heartbreakingly beautiful. Karla Cornejo Villavicencio's meticulous detail about life as an undocumented immigrant makes you ache. Her words humanize a people group who many Americans are quick to dehumanize. I'm convinced that if we took the time to get to know the stories of immigrants, like the ones she shares, and not just statistics, we would be a kinder and better country.
