The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver
5.0
I am in love with this book in its entirety. I seriously don't have any other words for it. I loved it.
I loved watching characters develop, even the ones I hated.
I loved the fact it made me think constantly.
Like I myself was stuck in the sticky heat of the African sun.
It was beautiful, and everyone should read it. In its own way, it shows us as Americans what happens when we choose to change something instead of helping it because WE think we know better about its needs. Africa doesn't need to be changed. It's inhabitants don't need to be changed. We need to listen and learn. That's really it.
This book has left an incredible impact on me. It will for a very long time.
