The Resemblance

This is a debut novel; there are many aspects I enjoyed. I liked the premise and the fact that the author took hazing as a central plot point, and built an interesting story around it.
While I liked the main character for the most part, and wanted to find out a bit about her past (and that reveal was also unique), I thought her decision making was rather ridiculous at times. I also thought others reactions to the fire were really off (and honestly not sure how recovery from that would go, but I thought she was released rather early from the hospital).
I do wonder if the author is planning on another book featuring the protagonist.
I have had difficulties rating books that are between a 2 and a 3 recently....this is probably a 2.5. I am giving it a 3 simply because it's a debut and I prefer rating a bit higher than lower for books when I am debating the score.
And really, hazing has to end.
