The United States Constitution: A Graphic Adaptation by Jonathan Hennessey
3.0
Most of this book was a bit of a chore, if I’m being honest. The back of the book claims it “is hands-down the easiest, most entertaining, most memorable introduction to America’s founding document.” I love to learn, and I’m always open to understanding history and historical documents better. And sure, the book helped with that, but a good deal of this book also seemed pretty dry to me. The best part for me was the Bill of Rights section towards the end of the book. In addition to listing the rights, it helped explained some of their exceptions too, which I’m not as familiar with. I’m not sure how I would improve this book….the text was fairly accessible for most reading levels, and the graphic art is amazing! But nevertheless I kinda had to convince myself to keep picking it up and keep reading. I’m glad I read it, but have no plans to read it again. I really appreciate the list of books at the end to consider reading in the future to learn more.
