Eternal Darkness

Review 37 - Eternal Darkness by J.F. Johns
I was sent this book by the author in exchange for a review.
This is the 1st book by this author and also the 1st book in the series.
The story in this book was very well thought out and created, but unfortunately, it wasn't for me.
There are a lot of positive points about the book that I enjoyed though, these were :
* The story world is very well imagined with its multiple capitals. It reminded me of the Hunger Games with its numerous districts.
* The characters have a great deal of depth and their back stories are well written.
* I love the fact that the book has a map of the world at the start.
* The cover is beautiful with a bright blue eye against the silvery gray background.
This book is a dystopian story with lots of intriguing parts, interesting plot and well developed characters.
It is set a long way in the future, with the world being split between humans and cyborgs (humans with robotic parts). The cyborgs are not well liked by the humans and are treated very poorly.
The main character, Scarlet, is neither human or cyborg, but something in between.
I'm not sure why this story wasn't really for me, but I think that the main reason is that there wasn't enough action for me.
However, the author has a very light and easy to read writing style.
She was able to give all of her characters their thoughts and feelings and the book was very descriptive.
