I really enjoyed this, but I do think the pacing ended up being a bit off in the last 20%, hence the dropped .5 star.
Violet makes an interesting character, and her particular disability makes for a very interesting premise in a world where strength very much depends on the cooperation of their body.
The intrigue over all was well done, although I do feel like maybe the book was a touch too long. Looking forward to the next one.
Also, if Dain doesn't lose his hands in a future book as punishment for what an utter bastard he is, then I'll never forgive the author. He's on par with a rapist and has no place to live.
