Mostly Harmless by Douglas Adams
5.0

Just finished off the last of this wonderful series. In the last two books especially, The Guide becomes much more plaintive, which is an astounding feat given that the series never loses its comical, absurd voice. It's a delicate line that Adams trod through this series, and in the end, the vast absurdity of the Universe becomes an object both of satire and humor, loneliness and pain. A very satisfying story throughout. A tragedy then to have lost Mr. Adams at such a young age.
