The selling point of this book is strong (making fun of the drains and stupidity of office culture) and delivers in the first half of the book. Several things made me laugh out loud and felt like a balm to workplace stings.

However, as the main character spirals deeper into a depression, the heaviness weighs down the novel overall. Which is a good representation of depression, but wasn’t very satisfying as a reader. Near the very end of the novel, there is closure with the main character making concentrated efforts to support herself, but the reading experience felt uneven.
