The Awakening by Kate Chopin

5.0

This was another book I read in collge and really loved. This time it was in a Women's Lit class (which typically I try and avoid because I think you have to have a REALLY good teacher to teach a course of this nature objectively and not be all women's lib-like, etc). In this case, we read all sorts of interesting novels, this one included. A lot of people had read this in HS and I had not, so I didn't have any concept of plot or character types. If you haven't read it, pick it up. It's a super quick read to be a "classic" and while it's themes are deep, it isn't dense and consuming in nature.
