Deadhouse Gates by Steven Erikson

5.0

Way more accessible and with a ton more forward action than Gardens of the Moon, but loses a lot of the 'gods playing with the lives of mortals' stuff that made the first book so resonant. Still, a couple years on I can remember way more characters, imagery, and plot from this one than from Gardens of the Moon so that counts for a lot. Extremely gripping read!
