The Woman in Me by Britney Spears

emotional informative inspiring sad fast-paced

4.5

This is only the second celebrity memoir I’ve read, so I don’t know how it compares within the genre. But I was hooked from the first page. I feel so terrible for this woman. What she went through was disgusting and inhumane. I hope her family sees justice for what they did to her. Britney does a great job of giving a balanced account of her life. She takes accountability for her mistakes and sheds light on how the level of celebrity she was at tends to warp your reality and change the people around you. I’m glad that she finds so much joy in her craft because it seems like she sacrificed a lot so that the world could enjoy her music.
