I found this book to be a little bit of a slog. What Vin was going through in this book made sense, but it was also annoying in the way it was like what a YA character would be going through. Plus, from going to Stormlight Archive to this, Vin's development in this book didn't feel as well connected or emotion-shattering as it is in Stormlight Archive with what those characters went through. Plus, I hated the whole
love corner between her, Zane, and Elend
. I also hated
the lack of communication between Vin and Elend.

What I did like about this book was learning about the lore. Having some more answers about what has happened in this world and all of that was very interesting.

What I didn't like was some of the YA feel, and the disconnect I felt from the characters. I still don't feel like I know anyone well. So, it was harder to care about what they were going through. I also hate the Chosen One trope. It's baked into this world but I still don't care for it, even if Brandon turned the trope on its head.

Overall, it definitely wasn't a horrible time. I can see why people like it and Mistborn as a whole. It's still enjoyable but definitely my least favorite of what I have read of the Cosmere so far.
