Dungeons and Drama by Kristy Boyce
5.0
As part of her punishment for a truly dangerous stunt, Riley is grounded for eight weeks. During that time she's expected to go to her dad's store after school and work. Riley, a theater kid, is thrust into the world of gaming. Nathan works at the store after school and isn't thrilled with having Riley around since it's clear she doesn't care about the store. When Riley hatches up a plan to get back at her ex, and help secure the girl Nathan has a crush on, things get complicated pretty quickly.
My teenage daughter fell in love with this series so I jumped in too. It's a fast and easy read with fake dating and miscommunication tropes. It deals with heavy topics like resentment post divorce, coming of age and health emergency. Riley and Nathan have a large group of friends, and it was easy to become invested in their input and roles too.
Overall I enjoyed the book, and would recommend it.
