Meh.

I have a 4-year-old with anxiety and this book is definitely NOT geared towards younger kids. The tips it gives are things that are more for young adult - teenage age.

And to me, it was very, very basic. The tips were a tad unrealistic to me. (I'm thinking of how I was as a teen and some of the things they suggest saying to a teen and having a teenager repeat to themselves are not something I would think most moody, anxious teenagers would do lol.)

This book felt more like I was reading multiple quickly written blog posts vs a thoroughly researched and constructed book. I also didn't really feel it gave a whole lot of "what to do" but instead just listed "here's what happens if" and "your child is feeling like xyz." Not helpful. I picked up a self-help book to find out WHAT I NEED TO DO. Not a book that basically tells me the struggles I and my child are feeling with just a few "try this" comments here and there.
