Built from Scratch: How a Couple of Regular Guys Grew the Home Depot from Nothing to $30 Billion by Bob Andelman, Arthur Blank, Bernie Marcus

4.0

Funny, I asked for this book for Christmas when it came out around 2001..got a DIY Home Depot book instead. Oh well. Didn't really miss anything with this book. I enjoyed the Walmart story more. The grit, the values came through. This one felt more like a big corporate push from the start. Amazing that they IPO'd with only 4 stores. But they knew they were on to something. Just like Walmart, they needed a few lucky breaks. Good, quick book.
