I like the character of D.C. Smith and the young PC he was given to mentor. The story moved along at a good pace and came to a satisfactory conclusion.
Listening to the Audible version really gave me a sense of the characters too. Gildart Jackson has the perfect voice and rhythm to keep me concentrating on the story and not pronunciations or unusual attempts to change voice too much for characters.
I've started on book 2 straight away because I enjoyed this one so much!
