Wings of Starlight
by Allison Saft
A decent YA fantasy read. As someone that loved the movies, I was really excited to see more of this story and I don’t think this book disappoints. Some of the lore from the books and the movies doesn’t match up exactly, but in my opinion, it’s not in a glaringly obvious way that distracts from the story. And getting to know more of Queen Clarion and Lord Milori’s past really makes it worth it. The romance is written in a very sweet and toned down kind of way that doesn’t distract from the conflict in the rest of the book. I do think the ending felt a little too neat and a little too quick, but overall the storytelling was solid, and the book was written very well. I feel like a lot of fantasy books recently are a struggle to read because of bad writing and that’s not true in this case. This was a very easy read.
It does feel like a very young YA book, but still very good.
