Beach Read by Emily Henry

“And that was the moment I realized: when the world felt dark and scary, love could whisk you off to go dancing; laughter could take some of the pain away; beauty could punch holes in your fear. I decided then that my life would be full of all three.”

Came for the fluffy romance, stayed for the beautiful story. This book caught me by surprise - to be fair, I haven't read too many romances yet, but this book has so much more depth than I was expecting. January is uncomfortably relatable and her POV throughout the book resonated with me. Hearing about her family's history & witnessing the way everything seamlessly came together at the end was truly enjoyable. Gus was frustrating at times, but I understand his reservations. I do slightly wish we could of gotten to know him a little more, but, still sweet & dreamy nonetheless. Plus, how could I not enjoy a love-story set in my backyard of West Michigan?
