Chasing Crazy by Kelly Siskind
5.0
I was fortunate enough to read an advance copy of this hilarious book. From the opening scene, I was laughing at the mishaps of a very accident-prone Nina. Kelly Siskind takes a series of cringe-worthy events and renders them with a narrative style that makes them laugh out loud funny. And when the heroine crosses paths (in the most humiliating way imaginable) with the seemingly perfect Sam, the swooning begins.
Though they start off strangers who met by chance on an airplane, as Sam and Nina begin to travel together across New Zealand, they grow comfortable in each other's company and their chemistry continues to heat up. But they both came to New Zealand to leave behind parts of themselves they'd rather forget, and neither is ready to show the secret imperfections they fear will horrify the other. Since their friendship has an expiration date at the end of their respective travels, they can both pretend for a short while to be a more perfect version of themselves.
But their true selves have a way of showing, and it's enormously fun to watch these two navigate this new relationship together.
This is a satisfying romance with so much heart.
