First- the elephant in the room. If you can call an author deciding to make a 50 year old vampire look like a 10 year old and then proceed to have relations WITH ADULTS an elephant. I did completely disregard her descriptions and did what I did when I watch Euphoria, I just told myself she looks around the same age as her partners. This book is really a roller coaster-it starts really high gives you a thrilling drop and then it becomes pretty calm. I loved the world and culture of the Ina but it went from a fun fight for survival book to a court session. All this being said I cannot wait to dive more into Octavia E. Butlers work, I just think I did myself a disservice by starting here.
