Beel is a demon, who has spent 20 years living as a pet frog after being summoned. His owner, Gabe, who found out he was really a demon after Gabe started dating another demon named Az, is worried Beel might be lonely. He wants to get Beel a companion, but Az instead convinces Gabe to let the pet shop owner, Jon, pet-sit Beel for them while they go in vacation.

Beel is very attracted to Jonand wants to figure out how to date him. His opportunity arises when Jon’s ex shows up and Beel secretly transforms and scares the ex away. Afterward, he kisses Jon, who seems to be equally attracted to him. When Beel returns in human form the next day, the two quickly start dating. Beel then tries to figure out how he can balance being Gabe’s frog and date Jon.

‘A Beginner’s Guide to the Care and Feeding of Demons’ is a novella that tells the story of a demon who has been living as a frog and a pet store owner. The novella is a heartwarming and humorous tale of two unlikely lovers who overcome their differences and find true happiness together.  Although the book is short, we still get some sexy scenes between Beel and Jon. Based on plot and steaminess, I rate this book four stars.
