The Country of the Blind: A Memoir at the End of Sight by Andrew Leland

5.0

Anyone interested in the history of disability, particularly blindness in the US, would love this book. Part memoir, part cultural study, part history, part philosophical considerations on what it means to be blind. What is disability and why and when does the label matter?

Well-written with a lot of heart.
