4.5⭐️ easily rounded up. It takes a while to get going and the prose won’t blow your mind, but the story is a banger and enhances the first installment. The multiple perspectives work so well here, better than they should, probably because each angle is suspenseful and carefully crafted. The sci-fi is understandable enough for me to follow along, complex enough to be interesting, and bold in its execution.
