The Inheritance Games by Jennifer Lynn Barnes

4.0

I love twisty-turny riddles and puzzles, even though it and a substantial chunk of the writing are YA as hell. (I couldn't get over the "hypercompetitive bisexual perfectionist" line as the most carrd-in-bio ass clunky exposition I've seen in a WHILE, and this book has a NUMBER of monologues. These three words have made their home in the wrinkles of my brain, forever.) I especially enjoyed how each Hawthorne brother has a distinct personality that plays well off of Avery; she had chemistry with them all, even the 1.5 brothers she doesn't really have a romance route with. Idk man it doesn't take much to compel me

I like Grayson better even if he IS an effective altruist. I love characters who appropriate panganay syndrome.
