The Ravens by Danielle Paige, Kass Morgan
3.5
3.5 stars.
This book gives 2010 YA fiction vibes.
I loved the premise of the book and the dual POVs. I liked how we got to see the story unfold through a new member & older member of the sorority. The magic system was interesting, different types of witches using tarot & the elements. But it was also really easy to follow.
I am in a sorority so I really enjoyed that aspect. It felt nostalgic and I loved the focus on friendship/sisterhood and supporting each other.
The book falls a little flat in the romance for me. Especially in Viv's relationship. It felt like a betrayal to me and I just didn't see the chemistry. A college senior spending time with & flirting with a freshman (when he has gf) just gave me the ick.
Overall it was a quick read that I would recommend to a younger YA reader.
