You Don't Belong Here by Jonathan Harper

dark mysterious tense

4.0

I had the opportunity to attend a reading for this book earlier this year. The author talked extensively about the idea of how hard it is, in a world of constant digital contact, to be truly disconnected, and the idea stuck with me for weeks before I started reading this book.

I love the way Harper explored this concept throughout the book, and especially the way it can feel both liberating and sinister in the same way that a small town can feel both charming and oppressive as you start to examine it more closely. Both feelings were captured perfectly here. I am looking forward to reading more by this author!
