I thought the philosophy contained in this book and the way the author threaded it into the storyline was fascinating. I thought it may distract from the plot, but it actually enhanced it in a way I've never experienced in a novel before. Reading it once was enough, because it is somewhat of a dry read, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.
