Tiepolo Blue by James Cahill

Mildly disappointed by this - I picked it up by chance and was enticed by the premise of the plot, particularly exploring the LGBT scene in 90s London.

As other people have said, it’s generally overwritten in an unnecessary capacity, which is quite distracting. It didn’t help that I found both main characters of Don and Val deeply unlikeable. I was expecting Don to go on a bigger character arc than he did, and any developments to his character happened in the final 80 pages.

There were parts I found enjoyable, but overall was left feeling unenthused. Not sure about the depiction of 90s gay london as only sexual - it’s a bit of an obvious stereotype.
