I am a sucker for a WWII historical fiction, and this one ticked all the boxes. There was emotion, drama, love, courage, lossand even a little fantasy. The stories were compelling and I really developed an emotional connection to the characters.
The ending, after the build up of the main story, did feel a little rushed and wrapped up more perfectly than realistically, but
sometimes you just really need a happy ending; This book delivered entirely on that front.
