I wanted to like this - but J blame myself since I didn't research and simply saw "Colette" and rightly associated this with the Belle Époque, so I fell into it.
The most exciting part was when we read about Renee Vivién and "La Chevalière" (who I believe I'm correctly assuming is really Natalie Clifford Barney) but only because I'm fascinated by NCB as a person.
I've learned I'm not philosophical enough for this, which is okay. I did enjoy reading about other queers - not just sapphics - and a bit about gender bending of the early 20th century.
