The Frequency of Us by Keith Stuart
3.0
This book is set in two different timelines, following the love story of Will and Elsa, who fell for each other during the World War 1 and Laura, a young woman who dropped out of University who has lost herself.
I found it really hard to finish this. The first few paragraphs were very powerful and had lots of action, however the middle dragged a lot and I found myself skimming through pages to get to the end. There were a lot of pointless scenes and dialogue that didn’t push the storyline forward. It did pick up by about 80% through so I’m glad I did power through.
I really liked aspects of this book. The love story between Will and Elsa is epic and the descriptions of Bath are accurate, I felt as though I was there with them. The science fiction aspect I also enjoyed, you just need an open mind for it.
Overall, I’m glad I picked this book up as I did really like the story but it fell short in some areas which brought my rating down a bit, I had to try really hard to get through the middle.
