Stories to Tell: A Memoir by Richard Marx

emotional funny informative reflective fast-paced

5.0

Disappointed that—as an 80s child—I was unfamiliar with Richard Marx, I can honestly say that I’m very much a Marx fan now. What could have been a boring collection of stories, a reason I frequently avoid autobiographies, was both entertaining and insightful. Hopeful, too, as Marx comes across as absurdly genuine and just one talented dude. Maybe it isn’t really deserving of 5 stars, but I’m giving it a 5 ⭐️ rating anyway.

Marx provides his own audiobook narration, and he does so  with authenticity and energy. That said, it’s an audiobook that does well, but doesn’t exactly shine.
