Brave New World by Aldous Huxley

5.0

“Words can be like x-rays, if you use them properly - they’ll go through anything. You read and you’re pierced.”

Far in the future, the World Controllers have created the ideal society. Through clever use of genetic engineering, brainwashing and recreational sex and drugs all it’s members are happy consumers. Bernard Marx seems alone harbouring an ill-defined longing to break free.

WOW! What a book. From the moment I started this I couldn’t put it down. The world that Huxley creates is so real and powerful. The themes and ideas explored are so vast and thought provoking! Also how is it possible that this book was written 88 years ago, and is so relevant and important today!
