This book seemed a bit cluttered, both with emotions and plots. Several long arcs have gotten wrapped up and tied off and we can now head into the last volume (sob!) with a reasonably clear heart.

Atticus, don't give up on you and Granuaile! Seriously! It's okay to be maudlin and depressed after all the shite of this book (and the one before), but get a new hobby and find joy in life again. Yes, you have more people in your life to worry about, but you also have more richness. Find your peace and don't push her away! So she's learning Polish. So what?! Go learn with her. Sheesh.
