I wish there was more!
Anna Malaika Tubbs did a great job with the scarce information she had available about the lives of Alberta, Berdis, and Louise, the mothers of three of the most well-known Black men in American history. But goodness, do I wish there was more biographical information to be found. There's nothing like firsthand accounts. But an overall enlightening book, and hopefully just the start to tell Black women's and Black mothers' stories in all their hardship and wonder.
