Isabel Allende is a magical storyteller, a good witch for sure, and one of the only writers who can have me reading two page paragraphs without cussing like a sailor. 😜 I highly recommend this politically charged love story set in Chile. That it nabbed a spot on my all-time favorites shelf is a testament to Isabel’s gift as I abhor all things political. There was just no way I could give this book only 4 stars.
