A Christmas Promise by Anne Perry

5.0

This was a fun cozy Christmas book to read. Short and sweet and touching. A story of an unlikely friendship formed between two young girls who might've never met if it weren't for a mysterious death and a lost but beloved donkey. The story is well written makes you feel like you were there right at street level, freezing cold, although being in the middle of a Canadian winter it's not hard to imagine such cold. I didn't know the Gracie in the book was Gracie the main from the Pitt stories. I haven't read all of those but Gracie has made her appearance in the most recent one I read and now I'm happy that I read some background in her life.
