I’ve always struggled to imagine magic in a modernized world, and this book made me feel that way a bit—mixing magic with tech left the world feeling a little disjointed. But the characters? They kept me going. Tessalyn’s battle with her bond and Theon’s struggle for control felt real, even when I didn’t agree with their choices.
