Be Still My Heart by Charlie Cochet

**********Contains Spoilers***********

I rated this book 3.5 stars, so I rounded it up to 4 stars. I thought this was an enjoyable read, but not as much as book one and I can’t really pin point why. I thought it was another good addition to the Four Kings Security Series. This book is about Ex-Special Forces soldier Red, who with his brothers in arms own/operate a top tier security firm, Four Kings Security. I enjoyed the humour spread throughout this book and laughed in more than a few places, but that was mainly due to the supporting characters. Lol Ace need I say more. Yes, he’s way too overtop but sometimes you just need a good laugh. The stupid fruit jokes shouldn’t have made me laugh as much as they did. His love interest is Laz, a fashion photographer who was introduced in book 1, as he’s a friend of Colton’s. Red and Laz bonded during that book, when Red helped patch Laz up after an altercation with his cheating, manipulative and ab*sive ex Bryan. Red also made Laz feel safe while they spent time together.

Red is still on leave, after being sh*t when Colton was taken. Laz, was by his side while he in critical condition but then he left. Luckily Ace is being his usual self and trying to help Red as he could see the connection between him and Laz. So Ace tells Red that they have to deliver lunch to Mason, and turn up at a photoshoot where Laz happens to be working. When Laz’s life is in danger, Red offers to protect Laz, with the help of the rest of Four Kings Security and to try and get to the bottom of who’s targeting Laz, and why. I thought Laz and Red were cute together but I did find that everything was a bit too perfect between them, and the relationship angst that was featured in this book, was over extremely quickly. I would’ve loved a bit more danger/attempts on Laz’s life since this didn’t happen until near the end of the book but that’s a very minor issue. I’m looking forward to reading Lucky and Mason’s story next, and no doubt they’re not going to have an easy ride to get to their happily ever after. I’d definitely recommend this book, series and author to everyone.
