I admit I didn't know anything about this book when I picked it up I didn't even know what a Kaiju was, and the only picked it up to read it because it actually fit in one of the challenge categories for the popsugar reading challenge.

That being said I really enjoyed this book a lot. It is what I refer to as a junk food book it's easy it's convenient and it becomes your guilty pleasure. It's definitely not a highbrow book you're not going to learn anything and it's definitely not going to make you think but it is just a fun read. It becomes a little predictable near the end especially once you find out what the conflict is but that doesn't stop you from enjoying what happens. The best part about this book is probably the conversations between the characters because not only do they feel natural they're quite amusing.

Being Canadian I also enjoyed the little bits about Canada that were in the book. Unless it's by a Canadian author I always feel like Canada gets overlooked especially when it comes to sci-fi, so this was a really nice treat.

 Overall predictable but fun.
