The Splendid and the Vile: A Saga of Churchill, Family, and Defiance During the Blitz by Erik Larson

4.0

Glad that I had read Volume 1 of The Last Lion ahead of this. Gave me a lot of insight into the background of Churchill before I got to war-time Churchill. The descriptions of the Londoners and the nightly air attacks was felt pretty personally as my stepdad was a young teenager at the time. He later became an officer out of Stansted whose job it was to deal with unexploded ordinances. This book served to make all this ahppening to him even more real to me.

I don't know if this review can help any of you without an English stepfather though. :)
I definitely enjoyed and recommend it!
