I really liked the first half of this book. I adore Jacob and the representation of his anxiety and introversion was amazing. The love letters and the beginning of the fake dating into falling in love was amazing.
However, the miscommunication towards the end of the second act was so frustrating, because Brianna especially was REACHING for some of her conclusions. The third act and everything that happened there seemed so unrelated to the first act? I almost felt like I was reading a completely different book. This brought it down to the read it ended up being for me - I kind of just wanted it to be over by that point, which was a shame.
The narrators once again did a fantastic job. Kyla was such a good choice for Salvadorian Brianna, and Zachary returning from the first book was great.
