The Truth about Forever by Sarah Dessen
5.0
This story had some of the greatest character growth I've ever seen in a YA contemporary novel. I enjoyed reading about Macy's journey during such a formative period in her life - those adolescent years when she was finding out who she was and what she wanted from life (not to mention having to cope with the loss of her father). I thought her approach to all of the changes in her life was really sincere and relatable. I wasn't a fan of the romance in this, which is strange because I ship everybody and everyone, but it just didn't seem like there was anything there? Regardless, I appreciate how Macy's growth was independent of a boy.
Overall, I had a good time with this, and I'm happy to say that, though this was my third Sarah Dessen novel, she still delivered like she has every other time!
