Eugh I really want to rank this book but unfortunately I was left disappointed by how the relationship developed. I really really adored the first third when each of the leads’ traumas are introduced and how they interact after realising the misunderstanding that happened in their past. But because Annabelle’s trauma is explained so graphically and bluntly, I was put off with how roughly Rafe treated her despite knowing how abused she had been. With a weird ending to boot, I was just disappointed by a book that had a really solid first third that didn’t fully follow through
