Fashion In Action by Hope Nicholson, John K. Snyder III

4.0

Unapologetic 80’s bias (you’ve been warned)

Ridiculously ostentatious. This isn’t meant as a insult. That was the 80s. Not so much style over substance. More like anything of substance required style.

Fashion In Action (FIA) is an all female, celebrity, personal security firm. Basically they are bodyguards to the stars. This company comprises of Frances Knight (the boss) and three very stylish if not somewhat stereotypical agents. However, these are real women. Not dumb-down, hyper-sexualized or victims of bad relationships. Can you say refreshing? That alone gets 3 stars.

However, I can admit that most of the characters are pretty shallow in development. Especially the villains. They were bad people. Not sure of their motivations but yeah, being bad was pretty clear.

All that being said, I enjoyed it. It was light, fun and it made me laugh (in a good way). The artwork and extras were great. I especially enjoyed the paper doll reproductions and the variant art.

I would actually love to see a reboot of this.
