Spells for Forgetting by Adrienne Young
5.0
Mesmerizing and magical, this is a welcome change from my usual contemporary reads! I am so glad Random House allowed me the chance to enjoy such a welcome read for early Fall vibes.
Spells for Forgetting is the perfect Fall read and is the opposite of forgettable!
This story has a well executed mystery and layers and plot points that come together in an effective way. The writing drew me in and I am now going to have to read the earlier work from Adrienne Young.
The slow build was great, I appreciated how the scope of the story worked with multiple points of view that added depth and necessary connections.
I might not read a lot of fantasy per se but I love magical realism, I love narratives and characters with magical connections, and I love a feeling of magical realism with strong atmospheric writing. This book delivered a lot of favorite reading vibes and I will be recommending it to many.
Get a cozy blanket, a favorite set of pajamas, some tea and enjoy this wonderful book!
