I was really surprised by this book! Not only was it a fun one, but there was an undeniable depth to this story that I really enjoyed. I loved seeing our characters change for the best together and get to a good place in their life. It was so satisfying.

Lexi was such a fun and relatable character. I loved her instantly, she was a bit quirky, clumsy and so endearing. Her group of friends was also really well integrated in this story, which makes me look forward to the next book in this series!

Damian, on the other hand, was a bit tough to love at first. But that being said, I make bad decisions in books and tend to have a soft spot for the red flag MMC... So what can I say? He really grew fast on me, even though he is clearly not team cat lover (we all have our flaws). He had a great character arc, and it was definitely fun seeing him fall for Lexi.

While this is a fun rom-com story with all the best tropes (and Twilight references), enemies to lovers, fake dating, sloooow burn, this book also deals with a family member with chronic illness. I particularly enjoyed that more emotional side of the story that was really well depicted. I’ve lost both my mom and step-mom to cancer, and this story gave me a bit of closure on how we lived through these hard times of seeing a loved one going through this sickness.

All in all, this was a very impressive read, and it was not only pretty on the outside but also on the inside. Can’t say thank you enough to the author for the gorgeous PR box.
